It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batters to possess a record if never given the possibility.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory happened three months after her bow and seven global championships have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

If this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Many contend the argument supporting final game tension. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in training, it's been a challenging time because it appeared I lacked timing whatsoever," said Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your fighting spirit take over and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her great strength - and a priceless quality in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there the batsman was on her way.

"A chance to go out there and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was removed Australia needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

These statements will be the final thing competing nations at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a sense they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have delayed plans to retire, this tournament is expected to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as leader.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
